PARKnSHOP rolled out Hong Kong’s FIRST Free Food Coupon for Senior Citizens programme in 2012, together with the YWCA. Elderly people are given coupons that they can exchange for food and daily essentials free of charge. The programme rotates to different districts of Hong Kong each year to benefit more elders in need. The redemption rate for these coupons is remarkably high – over 90% – showing just how much elderly people appreciate this scheme. Shopping days are also organised with PARKnSHOP’s volunteers accompanying the beneficiaries to redeem the products at stores.

Accumulated number of beneficiaries reached 900 with over 24,000 pieces of products given away.
